May-June-JULY UPDATE
Hey y’all!! Long time no speak! So let’s catch up and update on some things that have been going on lately
So let’s start with May! In May, there were numerous markets to work at and many more friends to hang out with.
THE SEATTLE VINTAGE WORLD FAIR!
This event was so awesome and was such a great opportunity. Shout out to Bluecone Studio and especially Julie and Carolyn for letting me be able to table respresenting On the Block. I also got to work with my homie Dennis! We had so much fun looking at all the vintage clothing and the different sellers there. 10/10 I would work that again. Ps. The fishing for vintage clothing was a wild concept.
RAT CITY ART WALK
Rat City was a nice market. I love the concept of a market happening in the same area but within different stores. Sort of reminds me of a scavenger hunt for art! I wanna do that market again, I also did this again with the homie Dennis, of course.
CUTIE FEST
Kaitlin always does such a good job organizing these events! They are FREE TO VEND! It’s the perfect opportunity for many up-and-coming artists! I always have such a good time at Vending Cutie Fest because I meet so many great people and artists, not to mention I get to vend with ALL of my homies!(not just Dennis lol)
Now let’s get into June and July, my friends!
PIONEER SQUARE FEST
It was my first year working this event and I gotta say, they had their stuff down pact. I’ve never worked at an event that has legit video instructions on load-in, load-out, safety, parking, etc. This event was so well organized, and I really enjoyed that. It’s such a blessing not to have to deal with ambiguity when vending at a new market.
ON THE BLOCK
Let’s be honest! ON THE BLOCK is the coolest place to spend a Saturday! I get to work alongside my favorite people from the Forever Safe Spaces Collective and meet so many more people. I will say since my first OTB I’ve worked, they have upgraded so much more, and you can feel the culture just being at this event. I highly suggest anyone who’s really trying to put on for their culture through art to please give this event your time.
Project updates!
ALRIGHT, SO I finally finished my manga for the Clip Studio Paint manga contest! I am so elated to have been able to finish that in time and submit to my first ever contest. Honestly, I am now addicted to contests; contests really help push me to do better, and it’s so nice to really challenge myself. My growth as an artist has been speeding up rapidly. Also, for anyone who wants to read my submission, here is the link https://en.mangadraft.com/manga/a-vase-you-love/summary . So, currently I am working on a short manga for the Kyoto International Contest! It’s going to be called To Be Knight! It’s about a young girl named Addison who dreams of becoming the best knight in the land! I’m super pumped to work on this story because I’ve been really wanting to draw knights lately, good to have this excuse!
As of now, though, these are the only updates I have for you guys, but I am going to start updating more frequently, maybe once a month sounds good?! If so, see you all in August with some more manga updates!
